Solid surfacing is a man-made material with either an acrylic, polyester or blended base. Solid surface is available in solid colors, with large or small particulate, or in veined patterns. Polyester products can include metallic elements such as copper and gold particulate. The standard material thickness is 1/2” and the color is solid throughout. This enables surface scratches to be removed easily and the countertop restored to like new condition. Even serious damage can be repaired by the certified fabricators at Art-Tech Surfacing.

Perhaps most importantly, solid surfacing is totally non-porous. It will not support the growth of mold, mildew or bacteria. Stains have no way to penetrate into the non-porous material, making for easy clean-up. Another very attractive feature of solid surface is the seamless appearance of the finished product. Optional features such as routed drainboards and heat rod trivets can also be included right in your countertop surface.

Sinks are also available in solid surface material, providing a seamless integration between counter and sink. In addition, drop-in or undermount stainless steel or cast iron sinks can also be incorporated into solid surface countertops. Solid surface is cleaned with soap and water or ammonia-based cleaners. Each of Art-Tech Surfacing’s clients receives instruction on use and care of their particular solid surface and its specific finish. All products offered by Art-Tech Surfacing carry a minimum 10-year warranty on both material and workmanship in a residential installation.
